Why are the last three outs always the hardest to get? Seemingly impossible at times! It doesn’t matter if you are up by 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, it just doesn’t matter!

In the first game of our Tournament of Champions we were down 9-1 going into the last inning and came back to 9-5 w/ bases loaded and our best hitter up. We got what we wanted, but she popped out. That’s OK, she won’t do it tomorrow.

Tonight, we went into the last inning up by 8, we walked the bases loaded, let up 4 runs and they had the bases loaded w/ the tying run up and their best hitter on deck. Fortunately the #3 hitter grounded out to 2B, but geez, that was a stressful inning!

This seems to happen at every level, especially in big games. Why do you think this is? What is so hard about getting the last 3 outs?
