I am going to Win $6,000 for YSSG

I received my paperwork back from the state today about my articles of incorporation for the Youth Sports Support Group. I forgot to add the “Inc.” at the end so I have to resubmit :<. Oh well, that frees me up to spend thanksgiving w/ my family.

But, John Chow is holding a new contest to give away $6,000 in CASH! $5,000 would go to the charity of your choice and $1,000 will go to you to spend however you want. If I win, I would give the $5K to The Youth Sports Support Group, of course, and I would put the $1,000 into the charity as well.

The contest is being sponsored by XR.com. XR.com is a tiny url service that shortens your URL. Have a long URL? Go there and see how short they can make it! Sign up for an account and check it out!

Time to Plan for Next Year

Join the Sunset Wine Club Today!

Now that the season is over, take this week off and enjoy Thanksgiving w/ your family! Then, start planning for next year! Ask yourself, what is the one thing I can do to make my league or team better next year? Then start working towards making that happen. If every coach and board member across the world did that can you imagine how much progress would occur? The power of numbers if phenomenal!

What is the one thing you will do to make your league better? (Firing me is not an option!…lol)

    Holiday Decorations from Celebrations

As the seasons wind down and the holidays approach it is a time to reflect on the year and spend time with your loved ones. Of course, Little League parents rarely have the time nor the money to do this, but these next two months are when you want too.

I always love a good Holiday Party. There are as many iterations of parties as there are days of the Holiday season, but I found some great ideas at Celebrations.

My first and favorite for Little League parents is, of course, a cupcake decorating party for the kids! Kids love Christmas, kids love cupcakes, and kids love decorating. Get a whole bunch of sprinkles, red hots, anything festive, and go to town! This can be done at home w/ friends, at school, pre-school, wherever, and don’t be embarrassed to decorate a few yourself! Go on, it’s fun!

My second favorite thing I found on the site was a post about “office games” for a holiday party. The best, in my mind, was “Guess who’s desk”. Basically, you take 10 items and set them out for people to look at. Each of the items came from someone’s desk and the object is to guess who’s desk they came from. The one that gets all 10 right, wins! I suggest you try and be as off the wall as possible on this, go for the gusto, it could be great fun.

So what is Celebrations.com? A place for expert advice and fun simple planning tools for your next party. It is an interactive community space for sharing party ideas, recipes, photos and videos and a comprehensive resource for life’s most important celebrations.

    Halloween Rock Star

    rock star wig

Halloween is one of my favorite nights. In Virginia we lived in a neighborhood where the children filled an entire school bus and our neighborhood in Florida is no different. We literally go through five or six large bags of candy every Halloween. I am always afraid we are going to run out as I am the assigned candy doler-outer. Halloween this year falls on Friday night so it should be a much bigger event. I think I will great all my trick-or-treaters as an ’80’s rock star!

Maybe I will crank some new Crue, Metallica, throw in a little Ozzy and some poser rock for the chicks…lol. I wonder if I will just scare the trick or treaters away? While I once may have looked like a studly rocker, now I would probably be akin to meat loaf. Not that Meat’s music is bad, but I have never said, “man, I want to look like Meat Loaf.”

Anyway, I was perusing Halloween Costumes on the web and I found the awesome 1980’s rock star wig pictured above. With some temporary tatoos I will be stylin! Maybe I will break out the black King V and lay down some whicked Megadeth liches for the kiddies. You can take the rocker of the band, but you can never take the band out of the rocker.

Check out Halloween Adventure to find the perfect Halloween Costumes for your personality. They have everything you could want and more. Hurry over now and order.
