Don’t Use “Count Me In” for Little League Registrations
Apparently a firm called “Count Me In” that processes online Little League and other youth sports league registrations has been keeping all the money it is processing! SCUMBAGS! This is sick, sick, sick, but I guess the old adage, “desperate people do desperate things” applies here. As always, when you are hiring an outside organization, make sure to check their credentials and don’t give them full control of your funds EVER! These funds could have easily been processed through the league’s bank account rather than the companies no matter what the company said.
We sell advertising for leagues and all checks are made payable to the league! Upon delivery of the funds, the league cuts us a check. That way our hands are NEVER on the funds. We do collect money for our non-profit Youth Sports Support Group, but those funds are tracked and we have to file reports with the IRS, etc. There is no reason for any league to ever have their money in somebody else’s hands. Shame on Count Me In and shame on the league’s board for taking the easy way out. There are numerous online registration firms out there that use your bank to process the payments.
