We have finally finished the sponsorship pricing for our league and I have finally developed a system for the YSSG to provide scholarships for kids to play ball. This has been a long time coming but I am really psyched about it. I think I have found my calling in life, where this leads I don’t know, but I know it is a thrill!

Sponsor a Kid With a Scholarship
Every year leagues of all sports all over the world have kids that can’t afford to play. One of two things happens, either the kids don’t register, or the league “scholarships” them. Essentially, this means they let them play for free.
Little League allows leagues to ask for a donation to play, but will not allow a league to stop a player from participating simply because they do not have the money to play. Instead, they recommend the league find participating sponsors to pay their dues. The only problem with this equation is Little League volunteers do not have the time, nor the wherewithal to go out and recruit these sponsors.
This is where the Youth Sports Support Group comes in. We solicit sponsors for individual kids for any and all sports, then we contact the leagues and have them submit “scholarship applications”. From the funds we collect, we offset the cost scholarshipped players. This is not exclusively a baseball program, this is a program to get kids into sports. The mission statement of the YSSG is “Give every child the opportunity to build character through sport”. It need not be baseball.
