Red Lobster Disappointing, Time Alone With Wife, Priceless
My wife and I both received Red Lobster gift certificates as gifts for our birthdays last week. Yes, you missed my birthday! How dare you! Anyway, her mother was in town this weekend so it was a great time for the two of us to get out without any yunguns. Doesn’t happen often, but when it does we really enjoy it.
Unfortunately, Red Lobster really disappointed. My wife always gets the crab legs, this time she added shrimp as well. She enjoyed that, as well as her Ceaser Salad. The normally fantastic garlic buttered biscuits seemed to be lacking garlic butter and were smaller than normal. My meal was really not good at all.
Not being a big seafood lover, Red Lobster usually cures my wife’s hankering for crab legs and mine for steak. I know you are not supposed to eat steak at a seafood place and as a general rule of thumb I think that is good. But, Red Lobster is usually the exception to this rule. Usually, but not tonight.
The steak tasted as if it was a cheap wal-mart round steak. The kind you would find at a cheap seafood place. It was tough and gamy, not at good. Usually it is tender and tasty, tonight, not so much. The shrimp was good but how hard is it to make fried shrimp? That is typically good anywhere.
While the food was disappointing, the date was nice. The fact that is was free was even nicer! We really don’t get out alone enough, it’s times like those that you realize why you fell in love in the first place. We tend to forget this during our day-to-day routines running from one field to the next, then to school, then to homework, then callapsing exhausted at the end of each day. Nights like tonight should be treasured. Come on coaches, take your wife out tonight! You won’t be sorry you did.
What do you do to reconnect with your wife or significant other when things get too hectic?
